The Veil Weavers
We have a title: the third in the Veil of Magic series has been named The Veil Weavers, following The Nexus Ring, and Crow Boy.
I’ve finished the current round of editing, and emailed it to my editor.
Now it’s off my desk for a little while and I can catch up on all the paperwork that’s been piling up. Except I’d rather be writing.

Stanley Glacier
I wrote about Stanley Glacier in Crow Boy, but couldn’t hike in to get a good picture. Then I could hike in, but the photos were pathetic – totally washed out. My husband and older daughter were up there a couple of weeks ago, and, finally, I have a couple of great photos that have been added to the Crow Boy web page, on the map. http://www.maureenbush.com/_book_crowboy/

Musings: Crow Boy Indian paintbrush Stanley Glacier

Stanley Glacier
I wrote about Stanley Glacier in Crow Boy, but I had to write the description from memory and research, as my asthma was too bad to be able to hike up to it. This year, to my great pleasure, we made it. We didn’t hike to the foot of the glacier; I was already taking a risk pushing as far as we did, but we hiked into the valley and got what we thought were great photos. Unfortunately, they were all washed out under flat light. We did get some nice flower photos.
I’ve been struggling with close up flower shots, and wondering what kind of camera could do a better job. Then I discovered the magic button on my camera with the flower sketch on it for close ups. It’s amazing!
Here’s an Indian paintbrush, named because it looks like it’s been dipped in paint.

Banff Springs Snail
The Calgary Herald published an article on the endangered Banff Springs snail, which I wrote about in Crow Boy. Here’s a video clip, including some great pictures of the snails and the Banff Springs cave.
