Autumn Joy
The photo: the view from my office floor Sunday afternoon (I was stretching out my back).
The leaves are turning the most beautiful colours, orange and reds and gold, with hints of deep purple. This, of course, happens every year, except last year.
A deep cold after a hot fall turned everything brown and dead overnight. We had mud coloured leaves, frozen basil, and ruined carrots.
This year, we’re having a lingering fall, as mother nature lovingly changes the colours a little more each day. I’m trying to savour every moment, now that I know what it’s like to lose this entirely.

Cursed! Cover
With a book launch planned for October 16, it’s definitely time to post the cover art for Cursed! Eric Orchard designed the cover (he also did Feather Brain). The spirit man statue is based on the real carving, standing guard in our back entry.

Catching Errors
Sunday we drove out to the Tyrrell Museum so I could check details in the sequel to Feather Brain.
So far I’ve discovered three totally bonehead errors. How could I have written that? At least I’m catching the errors now, when I can fix them. Imagine finding them once they’re published!
It was fun to sit in the museum and picture the chaos I’m plotting. I hope young readers will be able to do the same.

Pirattitude
Ahoy Me Mateys. Sunday is Talk Like a Pirate Day, and we’ve got work to do. We need a day filled with pirattitude. And, of course, rum and pieces of eight and eye patches.
Besides hosting a rip roaring party, check out your horoscope, set your facebook language to pirate, look up some piratical phone apps, or check out the job Director of Piracy. My husband suggested another job, Pirate Relations, otherwise known as P. AAAAARRRRR.
