Fall Flowers

Fall is late here – it feels like late August, warm and mild, cold at night with a fall wind picking up, and the first leaves turning. My nasturtiums are thriving, a sure sign that we’ve had no frost yet, as it turns them to mush.

Page Proofs in the Mail

I finished the page proofs for Crow Boy and sent them off. While I worked, I made pages of notes for the third book, for ideas triggered by re-reading Crow Boy. Now it’s back to work on the new manuscript, sorting through my latest pile of scrappy notes.

Alberta Arts Days in Sundre

The Writer’s Guild of Alberta received some last minute money for Alberta Arts Days and asked if I could drive up to Sundre for a library reading. There’s a school next door, and they’ll invite a couple of classes. I’m looking forward to it – I haven’t been to Sundre for years. And I love talking with kids. Friday September 18, at 10:00, at the Sundre Municipal Library.

Word Press Worm

Word Press has been attacked by a worm. Derek Mah played knight in shining armour and updated my version of Word Press before I was attacked (we think), so my blog is safe. For now. He also got me rolling on Facebook, after nagging me for months to do it. So, I’m on Facebook – for anyone who’s looking. And I only have a few friends . . . it’s a little lonely out here.

Ahhhh!

I finally did it. And it’s fine coffee. I expected it to be stronger, as I was letting it steep longer than I normally do. It’s not stronger, but it is richer. And smooth. Very nice.
