Writing Down the Bones

In my no-brain-for-writing-ness, I’ve been rereading Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones. It’s brilliant. When I read it, story ideas shift and rise up from deep inside. I love to sit with it and see what comes up. Not having a brain is probably a help, as there’s no analysis, no judgement – just letting ideas emerge. I’ve learned that sick times are often productive this way. Perhaps ideas need fallow time to grow.
